Mission Statement
My Inspiration
When assigned the task of finding a theme for this website, my mind wandered for ideas. After a long day of brainstorming, I remembered my time in grade 11 Philosophy and the mentioning of Plato's Cave. Plato's Cave, having manny interpretations, was perfectly suited for being the backbone to my passion of analyzing my surroundings.
The Explanation
Plato's Cave or "The Allegory of The Cave" is a concept that plays with both reality and our beliefs. The premise of the concept is made up of a cave where multiple humans are kept captive since birth. Day after day, they watch the display of shadowed figures projected by the fire and puppeteers behind them. This is their reality. One day, a prisoner manages to break free. He escapes the cave and is presented with the beauty of nature and the open world. Coming to the realization that his previous reality was false and manipulated, he knows that he has to go back and warn the other prisoners. He tries to convince them of the captivating reality that lies outside, but they refuse to follow, claiming that his escape has driven him mad.

My Interpretation
Though Plato's Cave can be seen under many different lenses, I choose to see it through an educational point of view. My passion has always been to understand all that is around me. This means more than just simply reading the pages off a book or looking at a piece of art. I prefer analyzing what the author is trying to portray through their words and admiring art for what the artist is saying through their creative outlet. As I have grown older, I came to the realization that not everyone shares this passion of mine. I had escaped the cave! And my goal is to bring you all closer to understanding your reality. Though it may not compare to the mind boggling experience of discovering a third dimension, I'm trying my best to help you all learn a little more about what surrounds you.
